Sambo Creek: Hot Springs and Canopy Tour

Cuero y Salado Wildlife Refuge
About 30 km west of the city, Cuero y Salado protects roughly 25,000 acres of wetlands and is one of the best places on this coast to spot the endangered Caribbean manatee. Pico Bonito National Park

Tela and Lancetilla Botanical Garden
Tela is about 90 minutes west of La Ceiba by road, and the Lancetilla Botanical Garden just outside town is one of the largest tropical botanical gardens in the world. It is far enough that we would plan it as a full day out rather than a quick stop — see our Lancetilla guide for more.
